Yesterday, the developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl released another huge patch, which made more than 1700 changes to the game and fixed many bugs. Some players have already tested the A-Life system in search of improvements.

The author of the YouTube channel ZoneSlug checked the game before and after patch 1.2. In the video below, he showed whether there are any changes in the behavior of NPCs in the open world, or everything remains the same. In short, the system has indeed been fixed, but improvements are still needed.

Key observations:

  • NPCs have improved body search animations for all factions and new lines have been added;
  • Characters heal the wounded more often;
  • NPCs can change weapons to those picked up from bodies if they have better characteristics;
  • mutants still do not interact with corpses;
  • characters still spawn within 100 meters, and their bodies disappear when the player moves away, but the behavior looks more sophisticated.

The YouTuber also tested the optimization — the memory leak in some locations really decreased after yesterday's patch. You can find all the details of the big update here.

Let us remind you that this is the second update this year — before that, the developers fixed the compilation of shaders and the memory leak in the Rostok location.
