S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 Received First Patch in 2025: What Has Changed
Developers from GSC Game World released the first patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl this year. The update fixed some bugs, such as a memory leak in one of the locations.
The weight of patch 1.1.4 is just over 13 GB. In the notes, the developers reported that they fixed some of the bugs that players often complained about. Here is the full list of changes:
- shader compilation no longer causes crashes and freezes;
- fixed a memory leak in the Rostok location;
- solved a performance issue when shooting and aiming on late saves with tens of hours of play;
- fixed an issue with losing saves on Xbox Series X/S;
- fixed a crash related to UI animation.
GSC Game World also asked players to report any freezes or other errors related to shader compilation — fixing the latter was one of the most difficult tasks during the patch work. Let us remind you that the shooter was released on November 20, 2024 on PC and Xbox Series X/S. Despite its technical condition, the project received good reviews from players and the press — you can read our review here.
Earlier, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was tested using the new DLSS 4 technology. The game was also tested on the flagship NVIDIA RTX 5090 graphics card and showed how many FPS it was able to get.
