Valve has released the major 7.38 Wandering Waters update for Dota 2, bringing a wave of significant changes. The update introduces new rivers and creeps, moves Roshan back to his old den, and reworks many hero abilities.
Key changes in patch 7.38:
- New rivers now flow through Radiant and Dire jungles. Moving with the current grants heroes a speed boost;
- A new neutral camp features tadpole creeps that evolve over the course of the match;
- Wisdom Runes have been replaced with Wisdom Shrines, which require time to activate and won’t work if an enemy hero is nearby;
- The Lotus Fountain now functions similarly to Wisdom Shrines;
- Roshan’s lairs have moved to the main river. He periodically relocates between them, tossing heroes and creeps aside in the process;
- The Tormentor is now a single entity on the map, always positioned opposite Roshan;
- Neutral item acquisition has been overhauled. Players can now upgrade artifacts using a new resource called Madstone;
- Quality-of-life improvements, including a Roshan timer;
- Numerous hero, aspect, and item changes—Dazzle gets a brand-new ultimate, while Pudge’s reworked aspect enhances his carry potential.
