Days Gone creator confirms Sony has no plans for a sequel
Days Gone developer Jeff Ross has denied claims about a possible sequel to the zombie action game. According to him, «Sony executives were never fans of the game.»
Players again started talking about a possible sequel ahead of the State of Play, but a former Bend Studio employee categorically denied the rumors:
A lot of people still ask me if there will ever be a Days Gone sequel, so I submit this poster as evidence it will never happen. Sony higher ups like Hermen were never fans, so you won't hear about it at the PlayStation State of Play today or ever. pic.twitter.com/9G8lPgJgVW

Jeff Ross noted in the comments under the post that Sony simply does not need another zombie franchise that performs worse in its genre. He also confirmed that Days Gone has sold more copies than Death Stranding, which already has a sequel in the works.
Let us remember that at the recent State of Play they showed several future projects, including a PC port of God of War: Ragnarok, Astro Bot, Monster Hunter Wilds, a remaster of Until Dawn and Concord. That same night, Konami showed gameplay of the Silent Hill 2 remake.
