Spirit Carp in Genshin Impact: What They Are For and How to Find Them All

Spirit Carps are special adventure items in Genshin Impact, introduced in the 4.4 update. They are scattered throughout the Chenyu Valley and will be waiting for players in strictly designated places. If you do not know how to find and what the Spirit Carps are for, be sure to check out this guide. We have provided a detailed map of the location of all such items, as well as described where to find each of them.

Spirit Carps are collectible items that are needed to level up the Covenant Jade in the same region. The mechanic works similarly to the Dream Tree in Sumeru. Currently, there are 50 Spirit Carps available for collection, and they look like small clumps of blue energy.

To unlock this object, you first have to complete several mandatory quests:

After completing the previous quests, wait for 2 in-game days to gain access to the local quest Cloud-Sent Path to the Abode of Chivan. Bring Spirit Carps to the object and unlock various rewards. After 40 offerings, you will gain access to Enlightenment.

The map below marks all available items in the Chenyu Valley. You can collect them at any time, but you can only unlock the Covenant Jade after meeting the conditions described above. In any case, even if you have not yet completed the quests, the items will be stored in your inventory — they do not have an expiration date. However, offerings can only be made 5 units at a time, so there is no point in constantly returning to the jade.

The first carp is located above a huge waterfall. Climb to its top, then activate the golden carp's ability to jump east towards the desired item.

The next carp awaits you at the top of the mountain. Use the power of the golden carp and climb to the top. Here you will need to attack anemo slimes, which will grant access to a chest and create a wind current. Use it to rise even higher and grab the Spirit Carp.

The next target is the top of a small boat, above which the item is located. You can return to the Statue of the Seven Archons to quickly reach this location.

This carp swims above the top of a building. Start from the nearest teleport point and head northeast.

Located right in the center of Caiyun Village. You need to find a large tree and a teapot-shaped pole. The carp awaits you at its top.

Head to the northern part of the village and climb onto a huge building.

Now you need to reach a cave and use the core of a ruin mechanism — for this, you'll have to defeat strong enemies. Exit the cave and run south, there you will see several ruin mechanisms. Overcome them, grab the item and insert it into the guardian. By opening the cave, you will be able to collect the carp.

Return to the place where you fought the ruin mechanisms, and go through the large stone arch where the ruin guard was sitting. To the left of it is another arch with cobwebs — deal with it to gain access to the carp.

Teleport to the fast travel point southwest of the carp marked on the map, then use the golden carp ability near the teleport and head northeast. The Spirit carp hovers over the plain, along with a point for using the golden carp's power — use the latter to obtain the item.

From the previous location, head to the large pavilion using the golden carp ability. You need to reach the roof and solve a small puzzle. Collect spheres on the roof as they appear (six spheres in both the upper and lower parts). Now climb onto the roof and use the golden carp to fly to the item.

Located at the very top of the tree. You can climb up the owl statue and use the golden carp point on the tree to fly higher.

Use the fast travel point to this area and look north. On the other side of the gorge, a Spirit carp will be hovering. Look around and find the golden carp sphere — use its power to cross the gap and get the item.

From the nearest teleport, run to the edge of the cliff, then glide down and grab the Spirit carp.

Located at the top of a huge stone arch on the mountain. Look around and find the golden carp spheres — they will help you reach the top and obtain the item.

You need to get to a small islet and inspect it. You will find the carp hovering above an ancient tablet.

Teleport to the fast travel point in the west and glide to the huge sailboat in this area. You will immediately notice the item — it is located at the very top of the mast.

To gain access to the next spirit carp, you will have to complete a small challenge south of the tower (activate the usual red mechanism). You can climb here on your own, but in this case, the golden carp at the top of the tower will not be active.

One of the most difficult carps to obtain, as it will require you to complete several challenges and defeat monsters.

First, defeat the hilichurls in the camp next to the fallen old tree. First and foremost, kill the shaman, as he will heal the strong opponent (the shaman is on an elevation). This way, you will gain access to the first fairy.

Now, kill three hilichurls near the owl statue. Resonate with it and release the golden carp towards the tree, under which the second fairy hovers.

The last fairy awaits you at the tree on the slope. As soon as you approach, the fairy will hide in a hole. Interact with three holes: geo-slimes will appear from the first, resources will drop from the second, and the fairy will be in the third.

When the chest is unlocked, a golden carp sphere will appear behind it. Activate it to find yourself on the platform. Shoot at the anemo-slimes — the platforms will move away, opening the path. Continue shooting at the slimes and ascend higher until you finally find yourself on the platform with the spirit carp and a rich chest.

If you've reached the teleport point and already activated it, or if you're following the guide and just got the previous carp, head northwest from there. The carp hovers near the tree by the cliff.

The next carp awaits you at the top of the lookout tower in the marked area on the map, not far from the previous item.

Teleport to the nearest point or proceed forward from the previous carp, then look at the hill. The item hovers high above it — you need to climb the mountain and use the owl statue to gain the super jump ability and leap to the carp.

Return to the teleport again, but now glide to the west. Under the slope, you will see a tree, between whose branches the carp is hidden.

The next carp can be found only by completing the World Quest «Hidden Valley, Secret Hero.» Otherwise, you will not enter the necessary dungeon where the spirit carp is located. Once you find yourself in the library, complete the quest and find the golden carp to glide to the item.

Head to the teleportation point and climb to the top of the giant broken arch in this area. Reach the golden carp, then glide to the circular hole in the northern part of the structure. Inside, the item will be waiting.

The spirit carp hovers high above the cliff, so you will first need to solve the puzzle with three sacred statues. Place them in the correct sequence:

You will receive a luxurious chest, and also be able to reach the carp using the ability that appears nearby.

You should reach this area and climb to the top of a similar stone arch where you found the spirit carp. On its northern side, there will be a similar hole — glide there and interact with the point. A carp will appear, which will transport you to a cave where you will find the item for the collection.

It's impossible to enter this cave any other way, so be sure to complete the time trial. In addition, here you can also inspect the contents of a luxurious chest.

From the previous spirit carp, you can glide down and go around the huge cliff. About halfway to the second arch, you will see the entrance to a cave — it will be much lower. Descend, enter the cave, and pick up the item.

Teleport to the Statue of the Seven Archons and head to the time trial challenge. Nearby, next to one of the trees, the spirit carp awaits.

From the same statue, glide to the ruins of buildings and examine the large arch, under the top of which there is a carp. You can climb up on your own or use an ability — the choice is yours.

Located in the same area as the previous item, however, obtaining it will require solving two simple puzzles.

Run to the western puzzle and get rid of the ruin mechanisms right under the Statue of the Seven Archons. A grate will open, from which you can take parts to solve the puzzle. Place all the parts in the correct order and inspect chests. There are three parts hidden here: the first in a small depression that will open after the battle; the second opposite the main arch; the third hidden on the left side of the ruins by the metal grate.

Proceed to the second puzzle (located under the nearest teleport). Kill a few treasure thieves and place a pillar on the platform nearby to open the grate. Inside the building, pick up another pillar and place it on the platform from the previous one horizontally. Take the very first stone to place it above the ladder on the left — another passage will open (this is optional, as there is a small hole behind the closed building where you can squeeze through). Set the arch at the first staircase, the large pillar at the second, and the third (smallest) one on top.

Submit the obtained items to gain access to the building where you will find the spirit carp, as well as a luxurious chest. Be warned, a ruin hammerer will be waiting for you here.

In one of the locations where you solved the puzzles with stone pillars, you can find a rusty key. It lies inconspicuously in a pile of stones under the staircase.

Use it to open the grate to the left of where you found the key to obtain the item.

From the previous location, run to the top of the hill and climb it. To speed up the process, use the nearby owl statue.

From the top of the hill where you found the previous spirit carp, use the abilities of the golden carp and reach the item floating in the air.

As soon as you find and collect the previous carp, glide down into a huge cave with a boss, but do not touch the ground. A bit earlier, you will notice a floating item — you can either glide directly to it or use a golden carp.

Use fast travel to this point and look at the huge jug. Above it, there is a golden carp — jump to it and descend inside the pot. This way, you will obtain an item for your collection.

From the previous teleport, run along the path across the river leading into a cave. Right here, you will find a fairy, and even lower, a spirit carp.

Continue following further into the cave. When you enter its main part, a cutscene will start, and a hidden quest Butterfly, Quietly Flying Through the Valley begins. However, we are interested in the carp hidden in this area. It is located in one of the huge metallic spheres, and you can reach it with the help of a nearby golden carp.

In the same cave, glide to the northwest (if you are standing where you found the previous carp — jump to the left). Here you will see a passage blocked by cobwebs. Clear it away and claim the item.

Located above one of the several destroyed towers in this region. You can reach it in various ways: you can enter the tower and use the Anemo ability to create a wind current, or you can find a nearby precision challenge, and once you complete it, the current activates automatically.

It hovers high above the slope. Use the owl statue to acquire a super jump and reach it.

Use the teleport to this area and make your way to the destroyed tower. On the lower level, you will find two levers and an explosive barrel. To keep yourself safe, press the lever and exit the tower. The barrel will explode, and access to the carp will open up under the stairs.

If you are coming from the nearest teleport point, glide down and find the entrance to a cave (there will be a large hole in the ground). From here, reaching the item will be the easiest.

Here, you can also start a time trial challenge, at the end of which you will receive a precious chest.

Teleport to the nearest point and look up — the carp floats right above the water. On the hill to the right, you will find an owl, which will kindly deliver you to it.

From the nearest teleport, descend to the lower floating rock to the west, then use the golden carps to pick up the item.

Floats to the left of the fast travel point on top of the pavilion. You will get here by the quest Jade Blessing.

From the previous location, climb to the top of the nearest hill. Here you will find an owl, from which you can borrow a super jump. When you jump, look up and interact with the golden carp. This way, you will end up right at the item for the collection.

This spirit carp will be visible from the point where you picked up the previous one. You just need to glide to it.

Floats high above the island. Use the owl statue at the highest point to take off.

Teleport to the lowest fast travel point and run to the top of the nearest hill. There is an owl statue with a challenge on it — activate it. When you do, you'll get a super jump and will be able to pick up the spirit carp. For completing the challenge, you will also receive a rich chest.

The last item for the collection can be picked up by moving to the very top teleport (at the altar site), then going back and jumping off the cliff. The carp floats on a small island to the left of the teleport.
