Many side quests in Horizon Forbidden West will have you searching for items across the map. In this guide, we'll tell you where to find the lenses and how to complete the Sun's Reflection quest.

How to Start the Sun's Reflection Quest

At the beginning of your journey, the protagonist will find herself in the town of Sun's Reach. This settlement stands on the border between a sort of tutorial location and the main world of the Forbidden West.

Looking at the map — to the right of the town's entrance is a quest where Aloy will meet a soldier trying to remove a peasant's corpse. The warrior will tell you that the deceased's companion is still alive and needs help.

After finding the woman, Aloy will fight several weak machines. After the battle, a peasant woman named Rayna will share with you that she wanted to climb an old signal tower. Her father once designed special lenses that could warn the troops of an impending threat. These devices are installed on abandoned structures, and she would like to retrieve them.

How to Find the Lenses

There are a total of six lenses scattered across ancient structures. At the very beginning, you will be given a hint on where to look for such objects. Since Sun's Reach and all the nearby territory are borderlands, the towers will only be located in the tutorial area.

Pay attention to the question marks. If you zoom in the map as close as possible — you can make out roofs, which will further simplify the task. Following common logic, signal towers should be relatively distant from each other. Therefore, if you have found one and there is another question mark nearby — it's definitely not what you're looking for. Moreover, all the structures will be in the mountains — you won't find them in the center of the location.

To obtain the lenses — you'll have to climb to the very top. Sometimes you may need to climb a sheer wall, but a universal tip is that the closer you are to the goal, the more yellow objects there will be for Aloy to latch onto. All towers have only one way up, so you can't go wrong.

You'll find the first lens immediately upon meeting Rayna.

The second lens can be found during the side quest Twilight Path, near the remains of a stormbird.

The third lens is in the tower with the metal flower.

The fourth lens will be in the farthest tower at the beginning of the map.

The fifth and sixth lenses will be on the other edge of the location, relatively close to each other. Especially easy to complete this task after obtaining a flying mount. Then you can directly land near the lenses, bypassing the obstacle course.
