How to Swim Underwater Longer in Horizon Forbidden West: Where to Find the Diving Mask
In the world of Horizon Forbidden West, primitive humans live alongside sentient machines. As in the first part of the game, we still play as the red-haired beauty Aloy, who once again embarks on a dangerous adventure. During the sequel, you'll need to swim underwater and hold your breath for a long time. This guide will tell you how to do that.
Why You Need Extra Oxygen
In the original Horizon Zero Dawn, there were no underwater locations; they only appeared in Forbidden West. From the very beginning of the game, Aloy can hold her breath for a short time. This is enough to swim a short distance underwater or attack an enemy from below. However, if you want to explore underwater caves, you'll quickly find that you don't have enough oxygen. For this, you will need a special mask.
How to Get the Diving Mask and Swim Underwater Longer
Aloy will craft the diving mask herself during the eleventh story mission called The Sea of Sand. Unfortunately, you cannot obtain this item earlier. In the quest, you need to talk to Morlund, who will ask Aloy to dive deep and find a cylinder of compressed air. It is marked with a quest marker, so you can't miss it. On the way back, machines will attack the heroine, which you need to destroy. Don't forget to collect parts from them, as creating the mask will require a lot of resources.
How to Use the Diving Mask in Horizon Forbidden West
The game does not have a separate button for using the diving mask. Aloy automatically puts it on when diving underwater. The oxygen supply is unlimited, so you can leisurely explore underwater locations and find all the secrets and rare resources.
