In the cooperative shooter Escape from Tarkov, a new seasonal event has started, offering participants great rewards, including unique ones. Moreover, the event is accompanied by three hidden achievements, making it especially interesting for fans of this hardcore PvP shooter. In this guide, we will detail the quest chain, tell you where to find the encrypted flash drives, how to decrypt them, and where to install the gyrotachometer and Wi-Fi cameras.
Note: New event quests appear in the game every day. We will update the guide promptly.
This task is available to everyone from Skier. Just go to the Traders section and select Tasks to track it. It will appear even if there is no checkmark for available tasks on the trader.
Skier will ask you to find one of the scattered encrypted flash drives. They usually appear in the following places:
While searching, you might confuse a standard (protected) flash drive with an encrypted one. The required item will be highlighted with a yellow icon, as shown in the screenshot above.
Tip: Collect all available flash drives, as they will be needed for completing the next quests in the chain.
Once you find such an item, stash it in your secure container and head to the exit. Hand over the found item to Skier to receive a reward.
In this task, you don't need to do anything. Just give the memory card to Mechanic and wait for the new quest to appear. To continue its completion, you will need to finish the following Mechanic activities:
Soon you will have the opportunity to decrypt the flash drive in your hideout. For this, you need at least the first Intelligence Center and 15 minutes of real time. Hand over the flash drive to Skier or Peacekeeper to complete the quest.
Note: Depending on your choice, the next task will change. We recommend giving the flash drive to Skier, as his quest is much easier to complete.
Mechanic will try to decrypt the data but will encounter difficulties. To help the trader, you will need to find the following items:
All these consumables can be found by inspecting system units. Most of these objects can be found on the Interchange location, but note that other players will also be looking for them. We keep electronics in reserve for such cases, so some parts were handed over immediately.
After completing the previous task, the Mechanic will hand players a military gyro tachometer and a yellow signal flare. You need to go to the Reserve location, place the tachometer in a metal box at the radar station, and fire the yellow signal flare. It sounds simple, but in reality, you will likely encounter other gamers who are also trying to complete this quest.
If you have the Red Rebel ice axe, we recommend taking a Paracord with you, so if you're lucky with the spawn, you can use them to exit via the Cliff Descent, which is located right behind the radar station.
We also recommend hiding the military gyro tachometer in your secure container, but you don't have to worry about the yellow flare — it is sold by traders at reasonable prices. Go up to the roof of the radar station and find the metal box. Installing the device will take 25 seconds.
After that, return to the roof of the building and fire the flare into the air. A message about the completion of the quest should appear in the lower right corner.
There won't be any issues with this task: you need to go to Customs and clear the location of ten Scavs. How and when to do this is entirely up to you. After completing the task, don't forget to collect your reward and continue the quest chain.
At the beginning of the guide, we advised collecting all encrypted flash drives found in raids — they will come in handy for this task. You need to collect at least 10 such items to get the Documents with decrypted data.
Where to find flash drives? As mentioned earlier, check safes, filing cabinets, and jackets. For example, we actively explored the dorms on Customs. There are five safes, two filing cabinets, and quite a few jackets. In one raid, you can easily bring out 2-3 flash drives.
Another Decryption craft will also appear in the Intelligence Center. Each new run will take exactly 10 minutes of real-time.
The quest is available if you decided to give the flash drive to Skier instead of Peacekeeper. You need to go to the Epicenter location and place four Wi-Fi cameras in the TerraGroup building. Here's where you need to place them:
Enter through the main entrance and go up the stairs on the left. There is a wooden shield here where you need to place the camera.
Walk down the corridor to the parking lot. Here you will see two doors with a corpse lying between them. Place the camera so that both the parking lot and the doors are visible. To do this, place it in the flower bed opposite the entrance.
Return back to the main entrance and turn left at the far staircase. In the dead end, there is a corpse that has a 100% chance of spawning a key to Office No. 4 on the second floor.
Go up to the second floor and enter office No. 3 (it is not locked). In the center of the room on the left, find the double cabinet. This is where you need to install the camera.
Use the found key to open the door to office No. 4, then turn left and approach the window. The camera needs to be placed in the corner between the table and the window.
Note: For some players, the last placement location may differ. Refer to the quest description.
Surviving in the location is not necessary, so even if you die, you can still complete the task for the Skier.
This time the mission can be taken from the Mechanic. It will become available after completing the Skier's or Peacemaker's quest in the Epicenter location. The trader asks you to find the hideout of the fugitives who managed to escape from TerraGroup's people. It is located in the cottage area in the Lighthouse location.
In this map, there are three large cottages in the right part of the location. You need the middle house with a large garage and several rooms on the second floor. Go up the stairs and interact with the leftmost door (press Break). At this moment, the quest will be completed. In fact, the place can be determined by the quest image in the description (view from the window into the room).
We return to the Mechanic with news and receive another assignment. Now you need to get into the previously found room by any means and find the hard drive for decryption. The description says that former USEC PMC fighters can be found nearby to get the key to the door, but we didn't find anyone after several raids.
The easiest way to get into the room and take the item is to jump from the rock onto the roof of the building, then run along the ledge and break the window.
The hard drive is located between the bed and the cabinet. It can also appear on the bookshelves, windowsill, and on the other side of the bed under the blanket.
The quest becomes available from the Skier / Peacemaker (depending on the path you have chosen). In this quest, players are tasked with destroying a million special Scavs that spawn in the Shoreline location. The counter sums up the kills of all players:
We conducted several raids and discovered Peacemaker's people (since we followed the Skier's path) in the smuggler's area, which is in the upper right part of the map. However, you can surely encounter them in other places as well.
The bots are not much different from standard Scavs, except that they can be seen wearing a UNTAR blue body armor and sometimes a helmet. Additionally, they are well-armed. We encountered enemies with HK G36, AUG, and other weapons.
As a result of the confrontation, the Skier's people won. In the next quest, you will receive a unique device Dual Radio Transmitter in the amount of three pieces. They need to be placed in specific locations in the Woods location. If you are an avid player on this map, you might already guess where they are. For the rest, we have prepared a map with markers and detailed descriptions of the locations.
Along the way, you can kill Scavs (you need as many as eight for the quest, but this shouldn't be a problem). We did not find transmitters in the flea market (at the moment), but they can be crafted in the Hideout on the workbench (probably available at level one, needs to be clarified). So, in any case, we recommend taking one into the raid and hiding it in the secure container.
First point: near the boxes on the hill. It is located on the path towards the Sniper Mountain. It's hard to miss — just go around the mountain from the old sawmill side and run along the only path. On the left, you will see a small antenna, under which there are boxes. Approach closely and place the transmitter.
Next point: in the ravine. Even beginners probably know where this place is. It is not far from the previous spot. You just need to go down the path and go around the mountain towards the sawmill. Between the rocks, there will be a ravine and boxes where you need to place the transmitter.
Last point: near the bunker on the hill. From the previous location, run towards the sawmill and stop between two rocks. On the right will be the Sniper Mountain, on the left a smaller rock. Drop your backpack just in case and find several stones from which you can jump higher up the slope. After doing this, climb even higher to the left. Here is the bunker, and the needed boxes are to the right of it.
That's it, all that's left is to deliver the transmitters to the required locations and place them. Surviving is not necessary. And don't forget to kill the Scavs.
For those following the path of the Peacemaker, you need to go to Shoreline and find a laptop in the Smuggler's Path region. Look for a yellow Gazelle under a canopy. Inside, you'll find the laptop. However, this is not the only spawn location for the item: it can also be found in hangars. Check tables and sofas.
After receiving the device, the Peacemaker will face difficulties in decoding it. You will need to assist him: head to Customs and place a Bitcoin coin in the trailer near the new gas station (medicine always spawns in this trailer, one on the elevation). Also, take a yellow signal flare with you and, after masking the objective, shoot it into the air. The task is complicated by the fact that you need to survive and exit the location.
After completing the task, you will receive a new quest from the Fence. The trader does not like the fuss that the Skier and Peacemaker have caused. He asks to put an end to it, but first, you need to obtain the correspondence between the two traders. It is hidden somewhere in the village on the Shoreline location.
Note: The letter spawn is dynamic, so you will have to inspect all the houses in the area yourself. Check nightstands, tables, and sofas.
The next quest is also given by the Fence. After reading the letters, he suggests preventing the agreement between the Peacemaker and the Skier. To do this, you need to turn the traders against each other. Use the UNTAR armor and helmet, equip the M4A1, and kill 5 Skier's Scavs on the Customs location. The trader will provide the starting equipment, but if you lose it, you will have to buy it with your own money.
In this task, you need to sell any barter goods to the Fence (those without a checkmark will also do). However, during the quest, you should not purchase items from the Skier and Peacemaker.
In this quest, players need to assist the Fence and fulfill the request of the Peacemaker or the Skier. The next quest will automatically open with this one. Once you complete the next quest, head to the same place that the Skier or Peacemaker asked you to clear to find the device there. As with the letter, the item spawn is dynamic.
Note: If you have the Watchman unlocked, you can go to him and hand over the device. However, it is unknown whether you need to take the quest from the character in advance.
The conditions for completion vary depending on which trader's path you are following:
