Frostpunk 2 Guide: How to Deliver 75 Oil from the Old Dreadnought to New London

During the storyline campaign of Frostpunk 2 (scenario for New London), you will face the task of delivering oil from the Old Dreadnought to New London. Due to the beautiful but highly inconvenient interface, you either won't find the goods (and people) transfer menu, or you won't be able to send more than 60 or 66 oil. This guide will help solve these difficulties.

Where to Find the Cargo Transfer Menu?

So, you have founded a colony in the Old Dreadnought. The game tasks you with transferring 75 oil to New London.

Find the Old Dreadnought colony icon and click on it (see screenshot):

An additional menu with three icons will appear from left to right under the icon: resources, people, and transition to the colony.

Click on the resources icon, not the arrows around it.

Congratulations! You have found the cargo transfer menu, and next to it, the people transfer menu. Goods between colonies and New London are sent automatically, you don't need to control this. However, the transfer of people is impossible without 5 free frost squads, as is the transfer of resources from outposts and settlements.

The transfer menu can be called up in any city or at any level of the map (city, Frostlands). The main thing is not to confuse the icons. You cannot send resources to New London directly, clicking on its icon is useless. Resources can only be sent from the colony.

Why is only 60 oil available? How to send 75 oil?

It would seem that you just need to select the oil, drag the slider, and send it to New London. But many players encounter the fact that the slider stops at 60. The exact value depends on the tax on goods: if there is a tax, the transfer limit increases to 66, but this does not solve the problem.

You can even check the oil reserves and make sure that the tanks are full, 10,000 oil is stored in the warehouses. But for some reason, more than 60 (66) does not get sent, and the slider does not move to the right.

The reason is that you are not producing enough oil in the Old Dreadnought. Build a second (or better, all three) oil extraction districts. Part of the production goes to maintaining the Dreadnought's furnace, so the second district is mandatory. The basic productivity of one district is 60 units of oil.

That is, you are only up against a poorly designed script. Important: even if you cannot immediately fulfill the task of delivering exactly 75 units, start sending oil to New London; without it, you cannot complete the game anyway. You need to accumulate this resource because the storm is inevitable.

Return to the Old Dreadnought map and gradually unlock access to the remaining oil deposits by building additional extraction districts. After building the second district, the limits will be recalculated, and you will be able to send 75 units of oil.

Maximum oil extraction in the Old Dreadnought:

  • Without upgrades: 200 units.
  • Level I pumpjacks: 400 units.
  • Level II pumpjacks: 900 units.

Oil deliveries from the Old Dreadnought are a rare situation in the game where you may encounter the throughput limit of the transport route. The transfer limit for trails is 250 units, and for the cable car: 650 units (900 with an upgrade). If you deliver 900 units of oil to New London, you won't be able to send anything else. But this will not affect deliveries in the opposite direction. You can view the summary in the same resource transfer menu, under the names of the endpoints:
