Ultimate R.E.P.O. Item Guide: Top Picks for Monster Slaying and Survival

Apart from collecting money for the quota, in R.E.P.O., you can spend money on equipment that helps you survive and even kill monsters. In this guide, we've compiled descriptions of all the items you can buy in the shop, as well as secret grenades and interactive items found on levels.
Melee Weapons
Not the most convenient items, as they need to be "reloaded" and require maintaining close distance with monsters. However, they pay off in the long run, especially when there are stunning items available.
- Sledge hammer — the most expensive, slowest, but very effective melee weapon. For use, we recommend taking additional strength and increasing grip range;
- Baseball bat — a weapon for close and medium distances. Despite its low damage, it knocks enemies into the wall, dealing additional damage. Convenient to use even without enhancements;
- Sword — deals high damage but is very difficult to handle. Usually, a strike is made, after which you need to run and hide, waiting for the right moment for a second attempt;
- Frying pan — a meme and expensive weapon that quickly and efficiently destroys small and fast opponents. It has additional "stamina," so it needs reloading less often;
- Inflatable hammer — creates a shockwave upon impact that can push and knock down enemies. It's useful on levels with chasms but can also affect allies. The hammer itself is large and blocks a significant portion of the view, which is not very convenient.
Ranged Combat
There are no bullets in the game, but each shot consumes a gauge that can be replenished on the ship. Typically, there are 5 charges for each weapon. Shots are fired using the action button (by default, this is “E”).
- Tranq gun — temporarily puts monsters to sleep, allowing you to set traps, push the creature into a chasm, or simply run away. If you put a duck to sleep, it will automatically switch to aggressive mode upon waking;
- Gun — a standard weapon that's almost always available. However, it has a high cost, so you either need to save for several levels or reach level 5+;
- Shotgun — a decent ranged weapon but with a short effective distance. It slightly knocks back enemies and is useful against a large group of small pests.
Grenades and Mines
Explosive weapons with a high blast radius. They require skill, so before purchasing in the shop, you can test them for free. To activate a grenade or mine, press the action button (by default, this is "E").
- Stun grenade — stuns and blinds the enemy for a short period. Helps to buy time if you're caught off guard;
- Shockwave mine — pushes enemies back and slows them down. If they hit a wall, they take additional damage. Not the most effective weapon, requiring a special approach and suitable environment;
- Grenade — a regular grenade with a medium blast radius. However, it often doesn't damage flying enemies, merely knocking them away;
- Stun mine — stuns the enemy and deals prolonged lightning damage. It's best not to approach the enemy during this time, as the mine can ricochet and start damaging players;
- Shockwave grenade — creates a shockwave, pushing and knocking down enemies. Works like a grenade but activates upon contact with an enemy (or ally);
- Explosive mine — deals massive damage in a small radius. Once set, do not touch the item, as it will detonate instantly. Some monsters can kick the mine, so it's best not to stay nearby;
- Rubber duck — more of a fun item. Upon activation, it starts moving randomly and explodes at the end;
- Duct taped grenades — an explosive grenade hidden in the shop's attic. The entrance is always located in the ceiling before the medkits. However, items for sale don't always appear there. A bundle of grenades in a closed room deals massive damage, allowing for quick collection of extra money.
Upgrades
Permanent enhancements that only affect the character using this buff.
- Strength upgrade — increases strength by +1. The more strength, the easier it is to carry heavy items and lift enemies. With a certain amount of strength, you can single-handedly grab monsters and kill them by smashing them against walls and throwing them into chasms;
- Range upgrade — increases grab range. One enhancement is enough, no need to overdo this parameter;
- Stamina upgrade — raises maximum stamina by 10 points. We didn't upgrade this parameter above 70, which is more than enough;
- Sprint Speed upgrade — increases walking and running speed. A debatable parameter, as the further you go, the more places there will be with holes in the floor, meaning additional speed will only increase the chance of falling;
- Extra jump upgrade — adds the ability to perform a second jump in the air. Allows you to climb to greater heights where there are many valuable items, but it's relatively expensive;
- Tumble launch upgrade — by pressing "Q" while moving or jumping, you can perform a dash that deals damage to monsters. This upgrade increases dash range and damage dealt;
- Health upgrade — increases maximum health by 20 points. A useful purchase, considering that health can be shared;
- Max player count upgrade — shows an additional player on the map (button "Tab"). Convenient for tracking survivors when communication is not possible.
Drones
Useful assistants that enhance the player's capabilities. They consume a lot of energy, but can be combined to gain temporary invulnerability and quickly deal with problems.
- Feather drone — lightens the weight of one item. Can be kept in reserve in case you end up as the last survivor;
- Zero gravity drone — allows you to jump higher or lighten the weight of an item;
- Roll drone — starts rolling items or the android until canceled or the charge runs out;
- Indestructible drone — protects an item from breaking. Very useful for large and expensive items that are difficult to deliver in 100% condition;
- Zero gravity orb — creates a field where gravity is absent. A debatable item that consumes a lot of energy and doesn't provide significant advantages;
- Recharge drone — an additional battery that will replenish the supply during an outing without needing to return to the base.
Other Items and Consumables
In addition to offensive and defensive items, there are things that simplify the search for items and make runs faster and more exciting.
- Extraction tracker — allows you to see the next gathering point through walls. The top right corner indicates how many points need to be filled before departure. Very helpful in long runs, eliminating the need to monitor each point;
- Valuable tracker — marks the location of valuables;
- Energy crystal — automatically installed in the ship and restores charges if the required item (weapon, drones) is thrown into the container highlighted in yellow;
- Small cart — a convenient square cart that allows you to safely carry vases or can be used to throw small items in;
- Cart — a full-fledged cart, like the one given to you for free at the start of the mission.
- Small health pack — restores 25 health points;
- Medium health pack — restores 50 health points;
- Large health pack — restores 100 health points.
Free Items
Items that can be found on the level. You can sell them or use them to destroy monsters for free (and, theoretically, earn even more money).
- Toy Clown — if you press the red nose three times, it will explode. You can press twice and carry it with you like a grenade. The clown has high damage, and the noise will attract most monsters;
- Circular saw — a weapon with high damage per second, but requires several strength upgrades to hold steadily against an enemy. Easily handles small enemies, allowing you to clear the area and escape;
- Flamethrower — a heavy item with an activation button on the side. To aim, rotate the entire item towards the enemy;
- Magic Staff — a huge and heavy staff that fires a laser upon impact. It is expensive, so it's better to carefully bring it back to the base and place it;
- Doll — starts attacking the player when picked up. Move the mouse wheel away from you to maintain a safe distance. Meanwhile, you can deal constant damage to monsters, which will first try to destroy the doll.

These are all the items we managed to find and test in R.E.P.O. The developers have already announced new free expansions that will expand this list. If you find something not included in this guide, share it in the comments, and we will definitely update the guide.
