«It Couldn't Be Better»: Stranger Things Star Compares Season 5 to Lord of the Rings

Actor Finn Wolfhard, who played Mike Wheeler in the series Stranger Things, discussed the filming of the fifth and final season. Recall that according to rumors, the show is scheduled to air in November of this year.

In an interview with Variety, the performer admitted that his filming schedule was incredibly busy and required 12 months of work from the entire team. He also compared the series finale to the Lord of the Rings trilogy by Peter Jackson:

We had a long last year. We shot sort of Lord of the Rings style with a year-long shoot. It was a great way to go out and very intense. I feel like it couldn’t have ended better.

The actor admitted that he felt like Andy from Toy Story 3, who had to leave all his toys behind. It’s no surprise — 10 years passed between the series’ release and the final season, and the actor himself recently turned 22.

It’s the last 10 years of my life. Also for the creators, the Duffer Bros. started when they were 30 and now they are 40. Everyone had a long journey and shared it together. My whole childhood was there.
