Report: Nick Frost to Play Hagrid in the 'Harry Potter' Series

Deadline has revealed another addition to the cast of the upcoming Harry Potter series. According to the report, Warner Bros. has already found its next Rubeus Hagrid.
The role of Hogwarts' gamekeeper and Keeper of Keys is reportedly set to go to British comedian Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead). The actor is said to be close to finalizing a deal. Last week, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Frost had started following several actors already cast in the series on social media.
Previously, it was reported that John Lithgow would portray Albus Dumbledore, while Paapa Essiedu and Janet McTeer are in talks to play Severus Snape and Minerva McGonagall, respectively.
The Harry Potter series is set to premiere in 2026.
