«Dune 3» Officially in Development

Denis Villeneuve is officially set to take on the third «Dune,» confirms Legendary Pictures. It is most likely to be the final installment of the franchise, based on the second novel «Dune Messiah».
It has also been revealed that one of the filmmaker's next projects could be the adaptation of Annie Jacobsen's new book, Nuclear War: A Scenario. The book describes a potential scenario of nuclear war and its consequences for the planet.
Meanwhile, «Dune: Part Two» has become the highest-grossing film of 2024. The movie is still in theaters but has already brought in 630 million dollars. For comparison, the first «Dune» made 402 million dollars.
The digital premiere of the second «Dune» is scheduled for April 16th.
