Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 announcement boosts original game's concurrent players

Kingdom Come: Deliverance has seen a surge in concurrent players on Steam following the announcement of the sequel, with the RPG peaking at over four times its usual player count.

On April 21, the game peaked at over 23,000 concurrent players, when it usually averages around 6,000. An 80% discount on the game also likely helped boost the numbers.

As for the sequel, it's set 15 years after the original game in 15th century Bohemia, and will see the return of protagonist Henry. The developers are promising a large open world and a lengthy story with over 5 hours of cutscenes. It's due out later this year for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
