Insiders: AAAA-shooter Perfect Dark from Microsoft is «in a very rough state»
Several industry insiders have reported that the development of Perfect Dark, the AAAA game announced by Microsoft in 2020, is not going well. Journalist Jeff Grubb mentioned during the latest podcast that the game is «in a very rough state», and its developers are still undecided on the shooter mechanics.
Other insiders later added to Grubb's story. VG247 editor Alex Donaldson wrote that he has plenty of «crazy stories» about the development of Perfect Dark, while blogger Liam Robertson stated that the chaos happening in the studio deserves a separate video.
The release date for Perfect Dark is still unknown, and judging by the latest news, it's unlikely the game will be shown at the summer presentation. However, new installments of Call of Duty and Gears of War are expected at the event.
Microsoft previously announced the closure of four Bethesda studios, including the developers of Redfall and Hi-Fi Rush.
