Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 to Feature 12 GB RAM and 256 GB Internal Storage
The internet has recently been abuzz with more details about the hardware of the next version of the Nintendo Switch. According to the Famiboards forum, which analyzed customs data on shipments between Nintendo and NVIDIA, the new hybrid console will be equipped with 12GB of LPDDR5 or LPDDR5X RAM, as well as 256GB of UFS 3.1 type internal storage.
For comparison, the original Switch boasts only 4GB of RAM and 32GB (64GB for the OLED version) of internal storage. If Reddit users are to be believed, the new RAM should perform about five times better.
Previously, gaming accessory manufacturer Mobapad shared some details about the Nintendo Switch 2. A recent note mentioned that the device will have an 8-inch screen and controllers with electromagnets.
According to an official announcement from Nintendo, the first details of the Switch 2 will emerge within the year. Rumors suggest the console will be released next spring.
