Deadline: Director of «Deadpool and Wolverine» might direct new «Avengers»

Deadline reported that Shawn Levy might direct the next «Avengers» movie. Currently, the director of «Deadpool and Wolverine» is the leading candidate for the director's position.

According to journalists, Levy has already received the script but has not yet given a final answer. Soon, he will start working on the final season of «Stranger Things,» and he is also attached to a «Star Wars» movie.

Sources say that the fifth «Avengers» will be one of Marvel's biggest projects. The film plans to feature more than 60 characters from the cinematic universe, including Hulk, Thor, Doctor Strange, and Loki. Unlike the first four films, where the plot revolved around the main superhero team, the new installment will give many characters equal importance.

Filming of «Avengers» will begin next year. The premiere is scheduled for May 1, 2026.
