Assassin's Creed: Shadows continues to be actively criticized on social media, but there are those who support the developers. Capcom veteran Yoshiki Okamoto, who worked on Resident Evil 2 and Street Fighter 2, said he is eagerly awaiting the game and does not consider it a historical action game.

The developer also noted that he was not bothered by historical inaccuracies such as the inverted crest of Oda Nobunaga.

I'm aware that this game is currently facing all kinds of backlash, but I'd like to talk about things from a more positive perspective. It's a game, it's fantasy, not reality. Even if Oda Nobunaga's family crest is upside down, that's just the Oda Nobunaga in the game, it does not impact how entertaining the game is.

Okamoto added that Assassin's Creed: Shadows reminded him of the Genji series, which also featured a unique Japanese historical setting and two playable characters.

Yoshiki Okamoto shared his opinion about the game on his own YouTube channel. The video was review-bombed and at the time of writing has 6,700 dislikes and 337 likes.

Previously, players created a petition demanding the cancellation of Assassin's Creed: Shadows. It has already garnered 39,000 signatures.
