The Return of Wolverine Has Shown That Iron Man and Captain America Could Also Appear in the MCU

It seems that Kevin Feige has changed his mind regarding Robert Downey Jr.'s return as Iron Man. Last winter, Marvel's creative director promised not to resurrect Tony Stark, but now he believes that the superhero could still appear on screen.

During a recent interview, a Discussing Film journalist asked Feige if Steve Rogers and Tony Stark could rejoin the Avengers, especially in light of Wolverine's return. According to the top manager, this is quite possible if their participation does not harm the main storyline.

That's the key, right? How do you do it in a way that maintains what has come before, and in a great way? And we've been spending, you know, the last two-plus years figuring that out for Wolverine. So, what's to come? We'll see. We're just proud that we, I think, have figured it out for Wolverine. I think Hugh's appearance and starring role in [Deadpool & Wolverine] is a great sign that it can be done — if great care is taken.

Robert Downey Jr. has already twice expressed his desire to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As for Chris Evans, he is also not against donning the superhero suit, although he believes that his story ended in the best possible way.

Earlier, press reported that the directors of Infinity War and Endgame, the Russo brothers, might take on the filming of the new Avengers.
