During the 2024 Comic-Con, which is currently taking place in San Diego, film producer Roy Lee shared new information about the film based on the BioShock adventure shooter series.
According to him, work on the game adaptation is still ongoing, but Netflix has decided to drastically cut the production budget.
The film is still directed by Francis Lawrence, who has directed films such as Constantine, The Hunger Games, and I Am Legend. Roy Lee says it is a less ambitious film than originally planned. Plot details are still not disclosed.
Interestingly, the BioShock adaptation has been in various stages of production for over ten years. In 2022, Netflix took the project under its wing.
