Doom 3 gets an unofficial remaster that improves 2,300 textures
A modder with the nickname Clear_strelok celebrated the anniversary of the classic Doom 3 in his own way, updating over 2,300 textures in the game with the help of a mod. The original shooter received excellent graphics, close to modern projects.
The Doom 3 Redux — 20th Anniversary Edition add-on increases the texture resolution by 4–16 times compared to the basic ones, and also replaces all interface icons with high-quality versions, taking into account the screen format. The author recreated many textures from scratch.
In addition to the picture, the mod improves the optimization of the game, removes errors, supports widescreen format, changes visual elements such as reflections and shadows, and also fixes the sound. Note that the add-on only works with the original DOOM 3 and is not compatible with the BFG Edition.

A similar mod was previously released for Max Payne 3, replacing all in-game textures with HD versions.
