The first gameplay of RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has been released

One of the most intriguing games at the June Xbox Games Showcase was the fantasy role-playing game Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, featuring turn-based battles in the spirit of the Persona series. Today, Sandfall Interactive published a six-minute video with live gameplay.

The presented video includes several episodes where the main characters explore the underwater world and fight its local inhabitants. According to the description, this region is called Flying Waters, and the characters are searching for their missing companion, Mael.

The game will tell the story of the confrontation between humans and mysterious Paintress. Once a year, she awakens and draws a cursed number, after which all people of that age turn to dust. Each time the number decreases, dooming humanity to complete extinction. Players will take control of the 33rd expedition, which must find and kill Paintress.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 will be released in 2025 on PC (Steam, EGS), Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
