Rumor: CD Projekt RED studio faces tough times due to staff loss

Insider and YouTuber Endymion shared information regarding the future of CD Projekt RED. According to his data, the studio is not in the best shape due to the departure of key personnel and the promotion of «inclusion and diversity policies».

According to him, many talented employees have left CDPR. In his video, the insider also recalled the departure of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, who was accused of office bullying in 2021. The outflow of employees was also affected by the implementation of inclusion and diversity initiatives (DEI) in projects and in the workplace. Therefore, CD Projekt RED has recently relied heavily on outsourcing, Endymion reports.

For the same reason, the studio had to replace the RED Engine with the Unreal Engine. It is assumed that there are no developers left at CDPR who know how to work with the old engine.

Recall that CD Projekt RED is currently working on a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 4. The latter will tell a completely new story and will be released around 2026. According to Geralt's voice actor, his character may still appear in the new part.
