The first plot details of the continuation of «28 Days Later» with Cillian Murphy have appeared

Harry Potter star Ralph Fiennes, who played one of the main roles in «28 Years Later», shared some details in an interview with IndieWire. According to him, the film will be something of a road movie about a boy who is trying to find a doctor for his dying mother. They will have to make their way through a deserted Britain, which years later is still full of infected people.
Britain is 28 years into this terrible plague of infected people who are violent, rabid humans with a few pockets of uninfected communities. And it centers on a young boy who wants to find a doctor to help his dying mother. He leads his mother through this beautiful northern English terrain. But of course, around them hiding in forests and hills and woods are the infected. But he finds a doctor who is a man we might think is going to be weird and odd, but in fact is a force for good.
The role of the doctor himself was played by Ralph Fiennes. It is also known that Jim from the first part will appear in the film, played by Cillian Murphy, and a new character played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The director was Danny Boyle, who shot the original film.
The premiere of «28 Years Later» will take place on June 20, 2025.
