Valve fixes a 17-year-old bug in Team Fortress 2—only to roll it back
For 17 years, Team Fortress 2 has had a visual bug causing the Scout from the blue team to wear pants in the wrong color. Recently, Valve released a patch to correct the issue.
Valve staff added a missing layer in the Photoshop file, recoloring the pants to dark blue. Until now, the Scout had worn «enemy» khaki pants typically belonging to the red team.
However, Valve quickly reversed the fix and restored the Scout's original look, as the new pants clashed with numerous cosmetic items added over the years. «Fix made 17 years later reverted in one day. Quite a steep record for a Valve,» joked Reddit user SzonigPL.
Fans of the classic pants have already acted, restoring the Scout's original look. The skin is available for download on the Steam Workshop.
