Dark Horse to release new Witcher comic focusing on Ciri's origin story

Dark Horse Comics has announced a new Witcher comic based on Andrzej Sapkowski's short story A Question of Price (the fourth story in the collection and third in chronological order), which is part of The Last Wish anthology.

The comic will delve into the origin story of Ciri and how Geralt saved her father.

«Geralt is invited to a banquet at the Kingdom of Cintra. The Princess has come of age and suitors prepare to present themselves for her hand in marriage. Wary of the Queen's invitation, Geralt attends the dinner with caution. When a mysterious uninvited guest, bearing the armor of a knight enters the hall, a bold declaration and a shocking revelation ignites the party into chaos and uproar», — the description reads.

It's worth noting that the fourth episode of the first season of Netflix's The Witcher series is also based on this story.

The comic will be released in hardcover, similar to previous issues: A Grain of Truth, The Lesser Evil, and The Edge of the World (releasing on January 15). A Question of Price is set to release on July 29, priced at $18.

To fully adapt The Last Wish, Dark Horse Comics will need to release three more comics: The Last Wish, The Witcher, and The Voice of Reason.
