Rumor: Gearbox Cancels Tiny Tina's Wonderlands 2
MP1ST reports that Gearbox has cancelled an unannounced sequel to the role-playing shooter Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Development was reportedly halted a couple of months ago.
The publication speculates that the cancellation may be linked to recent layoffs at Lost Boys Interactive, the studio that assisted Gearbox Software with the development of the original game. However, there's also speculation that the project isn't cancelled outright, but rather put on indefinite hold.
The original Tiny Tina's Wonderlands launched in 2022 and received mixed reviews, scoring 78/100 on OpenCritic and boasting a 74% positive rating on Steam. While sales figures haven't been publicly released, publisher Take-Two Interactive stated that the game exceeded expectations.
In other news, development continues on Borderlands 4, the next mainline entry in the series. A recent trailer offered the first look at gameplay footage.
