Rumor: James Gunn's Superman Test Screening Saw Bad Results

Insider and journalist Jeff Sneider has shared what viewers thought of the closed test screening of James Gunn's Superman. He previously reliably reported the titles of all the episodes of the final season of Stranger Things.

During the latest podcast The Hot Mic, the insider shared information about the film that he received from third parties. According to him, fans «should be worried» because the reviews for the new Superman are not very good. In addition, a source in the person of one of the editors revealed to the journalist that DC Studios is very nervous about the film. Earlier, The Hollywood Reporter wrote that additional filming is being carried out for Superman.

The second participant of the podcast, John Rocha, said that he also talked to the first viewers of Superman. Many compared the atmosphere of James Gunn's new film to the first Captain America and the Mummy franchise. Test screening participants also praised Nicholas Holt's work, but called the plot and special effects unfinished. The film itself is not as humorous in tone as Guardians of the Galaxy or Suicide Squad, but most James Gunn fans should like it.

Some viewers also confirmed the appearance of Supergirl, Superman's cousin. Filming of her solo film will begin in early 2025, with the lead role played by Milly Alcock, known as Rhaenyra of the House of the Dragon.

Superman will premiere on July 11, 2025.
