Sony Donates $5 Million to Victims of Wildfires in Southern California

Sony has announced a $5 million donation to aid those affected by the wildfires in Los Angeles, which began this month and continue to rage on.

The funds will support emergency response services, community assistance, recovery efforts, and relief programs for those impacted.

Los Angeles has been the home of our entertainment business for more than 35 years. We will continue to work with local business leadership to determine how best Sony Group can support relief and recovery efforts in the days ahead.
— Chairman and CEO Kenichiro Yoshida and President and COO Hiroki Totoki

The wildfires in Southern California started on January 7. They have claimed 25 lives and destroyed or partially damaged 12,400 buildings, including the homes of many celebrities. About 205,000 people have been forced to evacuate to safer areas.

It's worth noting that the announcement of the Oscar nominees has been postponed due to the fires. Additionally, the production of the second season of the Fallout series has also been halted.
