The Russian Around Metro Builds community on Telegram has shared details about the new Metro game in development at 4A Games, along with a purported image from the upcoming title.
Details include:
- The game will not feature an open world, but rather large, open areas;
- The open-world concept was scrapped in 2022, resulting in a reboot of development;
- The shooter will be set in Moscow;
- Artyom will not be the main character;
- Locations from previous games will return;
- Some authors from the book series are involved in development;
- The entire development team has been revamped, with few members remaining from Exodus;
- Sergey Karmalsky is serving as art director;
- The game is expected to be announced in 2025;
- The project, codenamed Eolla, has not been canceled and entered active development at the end of 2023.
