NVIDIA assures RTX 5090 safety, new connectors won't melt like RTX 4090

NVIDIA has officially stated that its latest GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards will not experience the melting connector issues seen in some RTX 4090 models. The company's engineers have refined the design of the 12V-2x6 connector, making it more robust and resistant to overheating.
Despite the RTX 5090's higher power consumption, NVIDIA is confident in the safety of the new design. The company emphasizes that the changes made have completely eliminated the issue, which was often caused by improper cable installation.
Additionally, some graphics card manufacturers, such as Zotac and MSI, have implemented additional safety measures. For instance, Zotac has introduced a light indicator system that alerts users to incorrect cable connections, while MSI uses special connectors for visual confirmation.
