Gamer with Schizophrenia Shares a Touching Story of How Batman Actor Kevin Conroy Saved His Life

A touching story on Reddit has gone viral about how Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman in the Batman: Arkham series, saved a gamer suffering from schizophrenia. A user named MaliciousMe87 initially asked the actor to record a personal video message but received something far more valuable in return.
It all began while playing Batman: Arkham Knight, where Batman confronts his fears and hallucinations. Despite attempts to break the Dark Knight, he manages to retain his sanity and defeat Scarecrow and the Joker.
Since MaliciousMe87 faces similar struggles, the narrative of Arkham Knight deeply resonated with him. After completing the game, he decided to reach out to Kevin Conroy, famous for voicing Batman in Rocksteady's games, and requested a 30-second video message via the Cameo platform.
Upon hearing the gamer's story, Conroy recorded an extensive six-minute message offering support to his fan and reflecting on what gives Batman his strength. Conroy also shared that he personally understands these challenges, as his own brother suffered from the same condition.
Kevin Conroy has saved me from suicide more times than I can count. In 2020 I paid $100 for a 30 sec video. I got back over 6 minutes.
