Elon Musk is reportedly planning to take control of OpenAI. According to The Wall Street Journal , a group of investors led by the billionaire has proposed acquiring the non-profit organization, which focuses on AI research.
Musk's side is offering $97.4 billion, even though the startup OpenAI was recently valued at $300 billion. The amount seems low, especially against the backdrop of news about the launch of one of the largest AI projects involving OpenAI.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has already responded to Musk's proposal, posting on X: "No thank you but we will buy twitter for $9.74 billion if you want." Following this, Musk called him a "swindler."
