Apple announces budget-friendly iPhone 16e with a notch and single camera

Apple has officially unveiled its latest budget iPhone—the iPhone 16e. Sales will begin on February 28.

The iPhone 16e is the first budget model without a Home button. It features Face ID (with a notch instead of Dynamic Island), a USB-C port, and the Action button introduced with the iPhone 15 Pro. The device is powered by the A18 chip, the same as in the iPhone 16, and comes with 8GB of RAM and Apple’s first in-house C1 modem. The 6.1-inch OLED display has a 60Hz refresh rate.

The familiar camera module has been replaced with a single 48MP lens, while the front-facing camera sports a 12MP sensor. Apple hasn’t disclosed the battery capacity, but the company claims it offers up to 26 hours of video playback.

iPhone 16e will be available in two colors—white and black. The base model with 128GB of storage will cost $599, while the 256GB and 512GB versions will be priced at $699 and $899, respectively.
