NVIDIA RTX 5070 Ti Disappoints Experts

The recent release of the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, positioned as the successor to the RTX 4070 Ti, has sparked mixed reactions among experts and gamers alike. Despite its technical specifications and new technologies, the question of whether it's worth buying remains open.
The RTX 5070 Ti is built on the Blackwell architecture and features the GB203 chip, which, although cut down compared to the flagship RTX 5080, still offers a performance boost. It comes equipped with 16 GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit bus, delivering a bandwidth of 896 GB/s — a 77% increase over the previous generation. This enables the card to handle 1440p gaming with ease and even achieve 4K in some cases.
One of the standout features of the new architecture is Neural Rendering, which integrates generative AI-created objects into traditional 3D scenes, paving the way for more realistic game visuals. Additionally, the RTX 5070 Ti supports DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation (MFG), which theoretically could quadruple frame rates.
However, not all experts share NVIDIA's optimism. YouTube channel Gamers Nexus argued that the RTX 5070 Ti does not justify its price. According to their data, the card is only 20-28% faster than the RTX 4070 Ti and falls behind the RTX 5080 by 9-16%. They also noted that DLSS 4 doesn't always improve image quality and, in some cases, even worsens it. The channel's host believes the card is not worth its $750 price tag (about 68,000 rubles), especially given the competition from AMD's Radeon RX 7900 XTX.
On the other hand, TechPowerUp's tests show that the RTX 5070 Ti performs on par with the RTX 4080 Super and RX 7900 XTX, while being $50 cheaper than the RTX 4070 Ti Super. In ray-traced games, NVIDIA maintains a noticeable advantage over AMD competitors, making it appealing for fans of cutting-edge graphics technology.
The main question for gamers is whether it's worth purchasing the RTX 5070 Ti in the current market. Many experts suggest waiting for a price drop to make it a more attractive option in terms of price-to-performance ratio. For now, NVIDIA maintains a high price point, positioning the RTX 5070 Ti as more of an enthusiast's niche product rather than a mainstream choice.
