Media: The Blood of Dawnwalker creators and other studios under threat of NetEase closure

Recently, the Chinese company NetEase Games began to reduce its ranks, starting with the Western development team of Marvel Rivals. However, employees of other studios controlled by NetEase may follow them.
The Game File reports that the company intends to get rid of most of the foreign teams, including Quantic Dream (Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain), Grasshopper Manufacture (Lollipop Chainsaw), Anchor Point, GPTRACK50, Jackalyptic Games, Nagoshi, Pincool, Rebel Wolves (The Blood of Dawnwalker), Skybox Labs, Studio Flare, T-Minus Zero Entertainment and others. If a buyer is not found for them, all of the listed studios may be closed.
NetEase itself declined to comment, but stated that “studios and projects are in constant review and evaluation”. By the way, Rebel Wolves ended up on this list because it received a major investment from a Chinese company in 2022.
Recall that at the end of January, another studio saw massive layoffs. Ubisoft got rid of its team in the UK, firing dozens of employees.
