Infinix Unveils Smartphone with “Living” Solar Panel

At the world’s largest tech expo, MWC 2025, Infinix stunned audiences with a concept that could redefine the smartphone experience. The groundbreaking SolarEnergy-Reserving system isn’t just a solar panel — it’s an entire ecosystem. At its core are perovskite-based cells, which are far more efficient than traditional silicon panels under diffused lighting. AI integration enables real-time light analysis, dynamically distributing power between the battery and a compact storage unit embedded in the phone case.

But the true game-changer is Sunflower technology, which mimics the behavior of a sunflower. A special module within the smartphone automatically rotates toward the light source, even when lying flat on a table. This allows for up to 2W of charging, not just outdoors but even indoors — from a desk lamp, for example.

The NOTE 50 series, set to launch in late March 2025, will be the first to feature this innovation. According to Infinix’s general manager, these will be devices with "character" — a metal body, an AI-powered chip for adaptive functions, and hybrid charging via the power grid, light, or even a wireless station within a 3-meter radius.

Industry experts note that Infinix, traditionally known for budget-friendly smartphones, is making a bold move into the premium segment. If these technologies reach mass production, they could kickstart a trend of “emotional sustainability” — devices that won’t leave users stranded without a power outlet. Insiders suggest that SolarEnergy-Reserving may soon be integrated into the brand’s smartwatches as well.
