Free-to-Play Diablo-like SERAPH: In the Darkness Now on Steam

SERAPH: In the Darkness, a free-to-play Diablo-like ARPG set in a grim dark fantasy world, has launched in Early Access on Steam. The game is developed by South Korean studio Seraph.
SERAPH: In the Darkness's current build features a dark, medieval fantasy setting complete with diverse landscapes and challenging content. Players can experience a 10-chapter storyline, choose from five distinct classes – Barbarian, Sorceress, Valkyrie, Necromancer, and Druid – each with unique skills and progression paths. The endgame includes three modes, Void Abyss, Chaos Rift, and Trial of Heaven, playable solo or in co-op. The game also boasts a trading system and character progression through leveling, gear upgrades, and skill enhancements. The developers have assured players that they will not be wiping progress during future updates.
However, initial reception to SERAPH: In the Darkness on Steam has been overwhelmingly negative, with the game currently sitting at a Mostly Negative rating with only 16% positive reviews. User reviews heavily criticize the game for being a poor Diablo clone, citing low production quality, aggressive monetization, awkward AI-generated cutscenes, and registration issues. Some players are even comparing the project to low-quality browser games.
