Samsung Unveils Game Booster+: A Mobile Gaming Revolution Is Coming

Samsung is doubling down on its gaming innovations with the newly announced Game Booster+, a turbocharged tool designed to optimize mobile gameplay. The app is currently limited to South Korea as part of Samsung’s Good Lock suite, but industry analysts predict a worldwide rollout within months.

The upgraded utility packs three groundbreaking features, each tackling specific user pain points:

  • Custom Control Layouts.
Gamers can now not only remap gamepad buttons but also create unique control profiles for individual titles. Imagine crafting separate setups for an FPS and an RPG, then switching between them instantly — a game-changer for cross-platform titles where mobile interfaces often lag behind their console counterparts.
  • Next-Level Graphics Optimization.
The GPU settings menu now includes PreTransform and Texture Filter options. PreTransform reduces strain on Vulkan engine games during screen rotations to prevent lag, while Texture Filter lets users toggle between "Standard," "Performance," and "Quality" modes, balancing visual detail against device overheating risks.
  • Custom App Recognition.
Game Booster+ finally lets users manually flag any app as a "game," solving a long-standing frustration where streaming services or indie titles were denied system optimizations.

Limited regional launches are a classic Samsung strategy for stress-testing features. With Good Lock gradually expanding globally, Game Booster+’s integration into international firmware seems inevitable. Experts argue that tools like this solidify Samsung’s position in the gaming smartphone arena, putting it in direct competition with devices like the ASUS ROG Phone and Xiaomi Black Shark — all without requiring root access or third-party apps.

Once Game Booster+ goes global, Samsung is expected to partner with major studios to pre-load optimized profiles for AAA titles like Genshin Impact and Call of Duty: Mobile. For now, while Korean gamers put the app through its paces, the rest of the world will be refreshing the Galaxy Store for updates.
