Assassin's Creed: Shadows Review Scores Have Arrived

The review embargo for Assassin's Creed: Shadows lifted on March 18th. Critics are largely positive about the new installment, with an average score of 82/100 on OpenCritic.

Reviews are calling Assassin's Creed: Shadows an excellent game and one of the most ambitious entries in the series. Praise is being directed at its impressive graphics, beautiful and well-crafted open world, and solid combat system. Criticisms include a weak story, underwhelming enemy AI, and somewhat repetitive gameplay. The hideout construction mechanic didn't land with everyone, with some reviewers calling it tedious. Some reviewers also stated that Shadows doesn't bring anything fundamentally new to the franchise. As for optimization, console versions reportedly run smoothly with no major performance issues, while the PC version seems to be a bit more problematic.

Assassin's Creed: Shadows launches on March 20th for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5.
