Microsoft Confirms Windows 11 Upgrade Will Remain Free

The Windows user community was recently shaken up by a controversial post from Microsoft. The company announced that the upgrade to Windows 11 would be free for a limited time, but soon refuted the statement.

With support for Windows 10 about to end, Microsoft published a post titled «Free upgrade to Windows 11 (for a limited time only)». The title of the article confused the company’s customers, and the company quickly deleted the post with the excuse that the content was erroneous.

Later, in a statement to Windows Latest, Microsoft representatives confirmed that the deleted publication misled readers. According to them, the upgrade to Windows 11 will remain free for all users forever. In addition, all Microsoft Office 365 products will continue to work on Windows 10 even after its support ends.

As a reminder, Windows 10 will no longer receive security updates from October 14, 2025. However, for an additional fee, you can extend support for another year.

Recently, users crashed the rating of Assassin's Creed Origins on Steam due to incompatibility with the new version of Windows 11.
