AMD adds budget-friendly chip with cooler to Ryzen 9000 series
AMD has expanded its Ryzen 9000 lineup, built on the Zen 5 architecture, by introducing the new Ryzen 5 9600 processor. This more affordable version of the Ryzen 5 9600X retains key features but offers a lower clock speed and a welcome addition—a bundled Wraith Stealth cooler.
The Ryzen 5 9600 features six cores and 12 threads, with a maximum clock speed of up to 5.2 GHz, 200 MHz lower than its "X" counterpart. The processor includes 32 MB of L3 cache and maintains a TDP of 65 W. A standout feature is the return of a stock cooler, making it an appealing option for budget PC builds.
Although the processor is expected to be primarily included in pre-built systems, its availability in retail remains uncertain. AMD has not disclosed an official price, but estimates suggest it will be around $200 (approximately 20,000 RUB), offering great value for cost-conscious buyers.
With support for PCIe Gen5 and compatibility with new motherboards based on the B840 and B850 chipsets, the Ryzen 5 9600 is poised to become a popular choice for mid-range gaming PCs. It provides a balance of performance and modern technology support at an accessible price point.
