Lenovo introduceds Legion Go 2 and Legion Go S at CES 2025
At CES 2025, Lenovo introduced two new portable gaming consoles: the prototype Legion Go 2 and the updated Legion Go S. The company aims to deliver both a high-tech flagship solution and a more affordable option for gamers who prefer SteamOS.
Legion Go 2 features an 8.8-inch PureSight OLED display with a resolution of 2560 × 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, ensuring sharp and smooth visuals. The new TrueStrike controllers have rounded edges and an updated D-pad for enhanced comfort.
The hardware includes an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor with RDNA 3.5 graphics, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and up to 2 TB of SSD storage. The 76 Wh battery promises long-lasting performance, while the compact design highlights the device's portability. Lenovo noted that the prototype may still undergo refinements, with the final version set to launch in 2025. Pricing has yet to be announced.
Additionally, Lenovo presented the Legion Go S — a more affordable device targeting gamers who prefer the Steam platform. The model features an 8-inch WUXGA display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, non-detachable TrueStrike controllers, and supports two processor options: AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme and the exclusive Ryzen Z2 Go.
Particular interest is the Legion Go S Powered by SteamOS edition, the first licensed portable console running this system. SteamOS provides access to cloud saves, the Steam library, and Remote Play functionality. The device weighs 730 grams, and connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6E and two USB4 ports.
The Legion Go S will be available starting in January 2025, with prices beginning at $599.99 for the Windows version. The SteamOS variant will launch in May, priced at $499.99, making it Lenovo's most affordable option.
