AMD Gears Up to Launch the Radeon RX 9070 GRE for $449

AMD is expanding its RDNA 4 family with the upcoming Radeon RX 9070 GRE. Sources reveal that this new model will slot in between the existing RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT, offering a friendlier price tag without compromising on key features. Just like its higher-end siblings, the RX 9070 GRE is built on the Navi 48 chip, crafted using TSMC’s cutting-edge 4-nm process. However, instead of the 16 GB memory found in other models, this card will sport 12 GB of GDDR6 paired with a 192-bit memory bus. This positions it as a direct rival to NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5070, which also comes with 12 GB of memory.

Price is set to be the card’s major selling point – with expectations ranging between $449 and $499 (roughly 38,000 to 42,000 rubles). For context, the base RX 9070 is priced at $549, and the high-end XT version comes in at $599. With this strategy, AMD is clearly targeting users who crave a sweet spot between performance and cost. The GRE (Great Radeon Edition) branding initially saw action mainly in Asia, but with launches like the RX 6750 GRE and 7900 GRE, AMD has started rolling these models out globally. The RX 9070 GRE will be the third offering in the RX 9000 lineup and, based on current insights, is expected to hit the shelves before the anticipated RX 9060 XT featuring the Navi 44 chip.

This launch could give AMD a significant boost in a market currently dominated by NVIDIA. Insiders note that the current RX 9070 models are already outpacing the RTX 50 series in sales across several regions, and the new GRE version is poised to cement that success. While official specs and the release date remain under wraps, if AMD maintains its current pace, we might see a presentation in the coming months.
