Best mods for Teardown: weapons, teleports and story maps
After the sandbox Teardown appeared in early access, it did not gain much popularity. But as soon as the developers allowed players to create new content for their project and freely implement it, the situation changed dramatically. Today, the voxel graphics simulator has more than 35 thousand extremely positive reviews on Steam. In this article, we have collected two dozen of the best mods: from various weapons to Russian locations and story maps.
Teardown is a popular sandbox offering unlimited room for experimentation. Gamers can completely change the game world with all sorts of modifications and improvements. This collection includes the best mods for new maps, beautiful cars, and destructive weapons. To make the gameplay unique, you just need to choose the most suitable ones.
How to install mods for Teardown. Why doesn't the game see the modifications?
To install a mod, follow these steps:
- Download the modification and unpack it anywhere on your hard drive.
- Go to Documents and find the Teardown folder.
- Place the unpacked files in the mods folder.
Some users mistakenly place the modification files in the root folder of the game. In this case, the mods will not be displayed in the game menu.
Launch the game. In the main menu, select Play, then choose the Mods section. Select the desired modification in the Local files window. If it is a weapon or tool, switch the Disabled button to Enabled to activate it. To launch individual maps, select Play.
Noclip
To complete most missions in Teardown, you need to use logic, find shortcuts, and build passages that allow you to collect the necessary items and reach the checkpoint in a short time. Sometimes these tasks are really difficult, so we suggest simplifying the task a bit by installing the Noclip mod. The addition will allow you to move freely around the game locations. To activate the mod, press the Q key.
Godmode
In Teardown, the main character has health points. Vitality will decrease when taking any damage. On sandbox maps, this will practically not affect anything, but during the completion of story missions, the possible death of your character only complicates the task. To enable God mode, press the G button.
Tool Menu. Best tool mod
The modification adds a detailed menu with all the tools and weapons available in the game. Here you will also find guns added using mods. The crate icon means that the tool is in the stash, and the glove icon means it is already in use. To call up the menu, press the Q key.
Valuable Detector 2.0. Help in finding valuables
The modification is suitable for players who want to quickly find money and other items in Teardown locations to get the maximum number of achievements. With it, you will get a special device that simplifies map exploration — a locator. It works like a metal detector: you just need to take it in your hands and walk around the map. If there is a collectible item or hidden money nearby, you will hear a characteristic sound.
It is worth noting that in the first version, the detector only allowed you to detect items, but its improved version shows how many useful things and scattered money are left in the location.
Teleporter
A fairly simple and convenient mod that allows you to teleport to any place on the map within line of sight. Even if the object you want to move to is quite far away, the teleport will perform its task without much difficulty. Its main advantage is that you do not need to spend time flying around the location. The movement happens instantly.
Better Slow Motion. How to slow down time in Teardown
A modification that will help you shoot cool videos in slow motion. In addition, the add-on can be used to offload the video card during heavy destruction. You probably know that during large-scale damage, FPS in the game drops significantly. The effect passes after some time after the complete destruction of the object. At such moments, you can use Better Slow Motion to get a smoother picture.
Geardown. A collection of cool cars
The mod is a large collection of cool cars with unique designs and various characteristics — from racing cars to classic sports cars and SUVs.
Rally Speedometer
This mod will display a full-fledged speedometer on the screen while driving any vehicle. It shows the actual speed, active gear, and parking brake indicator.
Physgun
Among players, the Physgun is considered one of the most useful tools. Although it is not a weapon, it can be used to move and destroy almost any objects. The main thing is that these objects are separated from the ground. For example, a building installed on the map cannot be lifted until you destroy its foundation. With cars, containers, and other small items, such problems will not arise.
Hold LMB and point the beam from the gun at the object you want to grab. To throw it, release LMB. When you press RMB, the object will detach from the beam and freeze in the air.
With the gun, you can also quickly move around the location. To do this, stand on any artificial object, grab it with the beam, and rise higher using the mouse wheel. Scroll the wheel towards you so that the selected object pushes the hero upwards. Point it in any direction to move.
Portal Gun
The famous portable device for creating portals has also reached Teardown. After installing this modification, you will get a gun that hardly needs an introduction. The principle of using the weapon remains unchanged. You can create portals on any flat surface, except for cars and some individual objects.
Chibaku Tensei Kamiu
The mod adds to your inventory a tool capable of collecting small and large parts, including cars. When all the junk is collected, it can be sent straight to space by pressing the RMB key. The items will fly at such a speed that they are unlikely to return.
Russian Tesla Coil (no lag)
The Russian Tesla Coil is the most destructive weapon in Teardown. The gun has two modes — regular and destroyer mode. In the first case, the coil emits a thin beam that will destroy almost any texture in the game. When using the second mode, the device uses a large number of beams and demolishes literally everything in its path.
Hook Shotgun
The authors of this mod made the familiar shotgun not only more powerful but also added a useful device — a grappling hook. Use LMB for the weapon's primary attack. When you press RMB, the shotgun will release the hook, allowing you to pull yourself towards any object within line of sight. To do this, simply click RMB again.
AK-47
Adds the familiar Kalashnikov assault rifle to the game. The weapon has a standard magazine of 30 rounds, has low recoil, and good destructibility.
AK-12 (realism update)
In the improved version of the assault rifle, customization options have been added. You can modify the barrel, handguard, sight, increase the magazine capacity, and even install an under-barrel grenade launcher. To do this, take the weapon in your hands and hold the T key.
The AK-12 is also equipped with a safety and firing mode switch. By default, the rifle is in safe mode. To switch it, press the V button. To use the under-barrel grenade launcher, install it and press the C key.
Enforcer. Minigun with Explosive Rounds
After installing the modification, a full-fledged minigun with infinite ammo will appear in Teardown. Unlike its real-world counterpart, the gun does not overheat and fires bullets at a rate of 100 rounds per minute. In addition to regular ammunition, you can use explosive rounds that can destroy the largest structure in the game in a matter of seconds.
Sith Saber
The mod adds the double-bladed Sith lightsaber from Star Wars to the game. The saber can destroy any objects, including those that cannot be destroyed by firearms. When interacting with wood, the saber sets it on fire, causing a strong blaze. In addition to the regular attack, you can use RMB to launch the weapon at a specified area.
Dual Car Gun
The modification is a gun that allows you to launch cars at high speed. When you press LMB, a random passenger car will appear, and if you press RMB, you will release a truck, bus, or even a tank. With their help, you can destroy any object in a rather unconventional way.
Iron Man (Mark 3)
Adds the Iron Man suit to the game, which has a number of useful features:
- RMB and LMB activate the primary attack;
- Hold RMB and LMB for a few seconds to launch a destructive vortex;
- The E key activates laser beams;
- Press the G button to launch scan mode;
- Use Space to fly;
- Press the Shift key to enable targeting mode, which allows you to hover in the air indefinitely;
- Launch rockets with the C button.
ExoSuit
The mod adds a skin to the game that somewhat resembles the Iron Man suit. However, the ExoSuit has a slightly different purpose. The armored suit not only offers built-in weapons but also increases running speed and jump height, as well as destroys all objects the player collides with.
Nuke
Nuke is a full-fledged map from the popular online shooter Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The author has meticulously recreated the legendary location, which first appeared back in the days of Counter-Strike 1.6. But you won't be able to just reminisce; the map is designed in a modern style.
Aggression
The modification is a full-fledged mini-game with new locations, enemies, and challenges. The maps are designed in a futuristic style, and the challenges are so difficult that you'll have to try hard to reach even the 3rd level. Overall, the developer of this mod fully justifies its name.
Russian Town 3: Winter. Best Winter Map
You can now walk through one of the districts of an unnamed city in alternative Russia in Teardown. Here you will find familiar panel high-rises, among which there are also single-story wooden houses. Shawarma stalls are scattered around the map, and domestic cars drive through the streets.
Russian Town 5. Best Russian Map
In the improved version of the alternative Russian city map, new locations and objects have appeared. Now on the streets, you can meet police robots, visit educational institutions and a clinic, as well as a shopping center. The range of transportation has also increased.
Swatch Whip
The addition introduces a set of maps to the game that represent classic obstacle courses. The main task of the player is to reach the final cube to move on to the next location. Each level features a different vehicle. The developer has nicely implemented the mechanics of returning the car (with the press of a button, you can rewind time) and resetting the car to the starting position. On some levels, you'll have to use your wits, for example, by using an additional vehicle to open the way for the main one. If you're looking for a challenge in Teardown, be sure to try this mod!
