Alkahest announced — a medieval action game with impressive combat in the spirit of Dark Messiah of Might and Magic

The studio Push On has announced Alkahest — a first-person action game set in a grounded fantasy setting. The game tells the story of the son of a minor lord who sets out to make a name for himself by investigating goblin raids.

The setting is the kingdom of Kadanor, which is experiencing a power struggle between three houses. During his adventures, the hero will visit gloomy castles, dense forests, villages, and other picturesque locations.

There is already an in-engine trailer and screenshots available online. Developers promise a varied combat system where players can not only fight with swords but also, for example, throw barrels, kick enemies off cliffs, or collapse small structures on them. Alchemy will play an important role: collected ingredients will be useful for crafting bombs, oils, and potions.

The main sources of inspiration were Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, Dishonored, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and other games.
