Spear Song, a game about Russian bogatyrs, has been released on PC
In Early Access on Steam, the release of Spear Song, a turn-based tactical roguelike inspired by Slavic folklore, took place. The game is available at a 10% discount until October 24th.
In Spear Song, players take on the role of a commander of a squad of bogatyrs, who set out on a campaign to cleanse the land of evil spirits, including ghouls, forest spirits, and werewolves. Currently, the game has 10 unique heroes, each of whom has their own skill tree, three biomes with different types of enemies, card modifiers, a city upgrade system, and more. Completion of the current version can take 4 to 6 hours. In the future, the game will receive new combat mechanics, improved character progression, new quests, a fourth biome, and a boss — Koschei the Deathless.
Spear Song has received 95% positive reviews. The game is praised for its pleasant graphics, good sound design, atmosphere of a Slavic fairytale, excellent combat system, and enemy variety. The downsides include the small amount of content.
