Baldur's Gate 3 Player Figures Out How to Make Burning Companions Useful in Combat
Undoubtedly, over the years, Baldur's Gate 3 will find all sorts of unexpected mechanics and secrets, but for now the game remains a treasure trove of surprises. Recently, one of the gamers learned that burning companions can be a good help in battles.
A player with the nickname Agent_Gentlemen shared his discovery on Reddit. He found that a burning companion can become a «portable brazier» for weapons. Roughly speaking, you can bring a sword to a companion under the burning effect, and the latter will immediately burst into flames, due to which it will inflict additional damage to enemies. The mechanics work not only with companions, but also with enemies, so it is not always necessary to use your companions.
The find is definitely valuable, since the game does not always come across burning or poisoned surfaces into which you can plunge a blade for greater damage. For example, this can give a certain advantage when passing on Honor mode.
This isn't the strangest thing to come out of Baldur's Gate 3 — one player recently figured out how to turn Scratch the dog into a portable anti-magic jammer. Meanwhile, the developers of the turn-based RPG have released an advent calendar with surprises for fans and a teaser for the new game. In addition, Baldur's Gate 3 will receive 12 new subclasses in early 2025.
