Fierce Battles in Kyoto: Capcom Reveals First Details of Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Capcom has released a new video sharing details about Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Although the game is not set to release until 2026, the developers are ready to unveil some initial information.

The events of the new installment will take place in Kyoto during the Edo period. During their adventures, players will have the opportunity to visit several iconic locations, such as the Kiyomizu-dera temple complex.

The story will focus on a new character who becomes the wielder of the powerful Oni gauntlet. The artifact absorbs enemy souls, making its owner even stronger by restoring health and granting new abilities.

Toward the end of the video, the creators discussed the combat system. Instead of a hardcore gameplay approach, the team focused on making battles as enjoyable as possible. They specifically highlighted the dismemberment system and the "satisfaction of slicing through enemies."

Onimusha: Way of the Sword will be available on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
