Netflix Drops First Trailer for New SpongeBob Movie Centered on Plankton

Netflix has released the first trailer for a new, full-length animated SpongeBob movie focusing on none other than Plankton, the series' perpetually scheming villain.

The film's plot sees Plankton's latest bid for world domination go sideways when his computer wife, Karen, decides she wants to be the one in charge. He'll have to team up with his eternal nemesis, SpongeBob, to stop Karen. The movie premieres March 7, 2025, on Netflix.

It's also worth noting that another SpongeBob movie, titled The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, is in the works and slated for a theatrical release on December 19th.
